1 lb lamb or beef cut into strips
3/4 c plain yogurt (or 175 ml)
1 tsp each of…
ground cumin, ground coriander, chili powder, garlic pulp, salt, garam masala
2 tbs chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)
2 tbs lemon juice
Marinate all of the above for at least one hour. I put it all together in the morning (took less than 10 min) and then cooked before dinner.
Cook: 2 tbs corn oil
and 1 tbs tomato puree
add marinated meat a few strips at a time.
2 chilis (optional if you want it spicey)
1 green bell pepper
Simmer until meat is tender. Serve with basmatti rice. Indian food can often be labor intense and complicated. This was seriously one of the simplest and fastest indian dishes I have ever made and will make again… soon!
