Marriage Stuff
Posted by: traveler1
Just finished reading 'Families where Grace is in Place' by Jeff Van Vonderen. I highly recommend it to anyone who has relationships of any kind.
Really working on not manipulating, bullying, resenting. And instead deciding to love others in spite of unfavorable decisions/comments, etc...
This is really freeing, not only to myself but the people around me whom I love!
Marriage Lesson #6
Posted by: traveler1
We were talking about marriage with someone a couple of months ago and I gave some advice that my wifey thought I ought to share.
I said in regards to a husband...
"It doesn't matter what the request is from your wife. If it's reasonable, then it ought to be held in high regard. This is the woman that will serve and love you for the foreseeable future, maybe 50 years."
Since then, this statement from myself has come back to haunt me. On many occasions when I wanted to shrug off one of her requests, not deal with it or just say no, I have thought back to that statement.
Sometimes you just have to get out the camera and clean up later...

This is my cousins son Hampton. This is after a series of events where he drank tylenol and was caught holding a burning paper towel. I have to say, as spunky as our kids are, we have never had anything this interesting going on over here...

4GB Data Traveler survives washing machine
Posted by: traveler1
I bought 2 of these Kingston 4gb Data Travelers last year on e-cost.com for a total of $12 I think. About a month ago, I lost it!
Then my lovely wife finds it in the trap in our washing machine. I thought sure that it was dead and useless. But I forgot about it and threw it in the drawer in my office.
Language Lesson: the Cake Thief
Posted by: traveler1
I am going to start doing some language learning activities. The goal is to use this cartoon that does not have words. I will first record myself describing in french what is taking place in the cartoon.
Secondly, I'll record a native french speaker talking about it and then repeat the story myself.
Marriage Lesson #5

Marriage Lesson #5: "Lay down my rights and make peace all the time."
I haven't posted in a while.
Lately I've been thinking of this idea, although I'm not quite sure it's the context of the text. :)
"When you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go." Jesus was talking about Peters future, but I have personalized this a bit.
I often get the feelings of 'When do I get to do what I want. Don't I deserve this or that!?"
