glazed walnuts

sometimes a little good thing like this is so easy to make and soo soo good.
instructions {i won't even call this a recipe}.
put 1/2 sugar in with 1/2 chopped walnuts and a pinch of salt.

heat on med low until the sugar starts to bubble, stir a bit and when its darkish brown- but not too dark, remove and pour onto a slightly {butter} greased plate.

{resist temptation, its too hot to try at this point!}

Flourless Chocolate Cake

Going glutten free (isn't everybody?) reminded me that flourless chocolate cakes might need to make a comeback in my kitchen. Here's the recipe I used last night. The only change I made was to beat the eggs and sugar together until thick and airy and then fold in the chocolate. Yummers.

Flourless Chocolate Cake

I have been eating glutten free. I know, it seems that everyone is these days, but its not killing me and in fact doing this reminded me of a super yummy- and easy cake.

I made this last night.
The only thing I changed was that I beat the eggs and the sugar together until really thick and airy, then folded in the chocolate.
I topped it with slivered almonds and dusted with cocoa powder.

Miss Pants

Miss Pants is 7.5 mo old.
She loves to crawl, pull herself up and stand, shake her little bum to music, eat, say 'hi', 'go' on the potty, look at the baby in the mirror and take long walks in the park.
Miss Pants is a gift.

The lost art of the hostess gift...

has not been forgotten here in France.
I love it.

This week we had 2 dinner parties. At each one we received a gift from each guest. How delightful!
Chocolates, wine and even a gift from a woman who couldn't make it due to a family emergency! She showed up the nest morning with these lovely bulbs in a basket.

Canning Chicken in Madrid

We canned 4 chickens this week here in Madrid at my Moms house. She and her caner are AMAZING. I am so excited to take these home and prepare some simple meals.
Washing the Jars.

Sewing Project

I have been taking a 2 hour sewing class every 2 weeks for the past couple of months. Here is my latest project. I made it for Miss Pants out of an extra fleece blanket we had laying around. I'm pretty happy with it. Image
