Sometimes I wonder if these things really help. Our (new) dishwasher quit working afterabout 4 weeks. I pulled it out and took it all apart -It was acting clogged- and not draining. Unfortunately there was tubing and channels that I couldn't clean (bad design). So it sat and we used our other dishwashers. They always work but sometimes they complain. Anyway, Cheri, who picked out this dishwasher was kicking herself for the choice and I said alright let's look at this thing again.
So I actually got the manual out and read that you are not supposed to put jars with labels in this model.
Well, we had been saving and re-using peanut butter jars for goat milk and had run all kinds of jars through it.
So, knowing how paper shrinks when it dries we fired up the dishwasher and lo and behold it work.
What's the lesson here? Well there are several possibilities... 1. read the manual? 2. Don't rush into fixing things too quickly? 3. Save your money and let the kids wash the dishes because they dirty most of them anyway?

Here's the real lesson, I think. I never would have thought labels would clog the dishwasher with all the other stuff that goes through. I never would have suspected tree parts in my dishwasher either.
So, the real lesson is don't expect or presuppose. It's almost like when we pray and try to think of the ways God, who is not limited by time or space, could answer our prayers and just give up if we can't see how He might do it.
The combinations of things that can go wrong when children and equipment are involved is almost as limitless as God's ability to answer our prayers.

So, No expectations, anything is possible.

believe me, we did use the wait and see approach, that didn't work, so we put in some anti buildup stuff and tried the wait and see again. still, no dice.
would we have ever thought that a piece of a TREE would be in there? no, but i bet it was a child who put it there. i can't prove this, but i might bet on it... not our children, it hasn't worked since we have been here, but A child. i'm certain.

unfortunately my future dishwashers are really too young to do a proper job of dishwashing, although at this age they would love to. they do dry the dishes, mostly cheerfully, but i have to wait a couple more years for proper washers i think...

and as far as what God can do, more than we ever imagined. So i wonder, should I be expecting more from Him?
